Favorite Things Studio in Pembroke held a Reiki Clinic on Saturday, January 8th to benefit the Save The Children Asian Earthquake / Tsunami Relief Fund. A steady flow of warm hearted people came, despite the torrential down pours, to show their support and to make their donations to a wonderful cause. A minimum donation of $10.00 was asked to partake in the reiki clinic, but many gave more.
The need was witnessed, and the challenge was met. Through the help of so many kind people, Favorite Things Studio was able to raise $1,060.00 for Save The Children Relief Fund.
Elaine Read-Cole, Founder of Favorite Things Studio said "Every little bit helps, and that part of the world is going to need help for a long time." It's important to remember to send our kind thoughts and prayers to those who need them. Favorite Things Studio and it's volunteers used reiki to send energy of restoration to that part of the world at the closing of the reiki clinic. "Reiki has no constraints of time and space, just like prayer. It's the power of intent that makes all the difference. So our intent was to send as much compassion and healing to those who needed it." It's efforts like this that helps the world to keep pressing forward and ultimately achieve restoration and peace.
Many heart felt thanks to the show of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the day: Deb Blauss, Gisele Bonenfant, Rayne Cole, Kathryn Demers, Kim Dutra, Leslie Legg, Kim Sheard, Rachel Sykes and Elaine Read-Cole.
An extended thanks to all the people who helped to get the word out there, Linda Landesberg of The Mass Yoga Network, Linda Shepherd of The Patriot Ledger, Antoinette Donovan of MPG News, Paula Woodhull of The Mariner, and all the other voices that helped to spread the word.
